Day 1:

Arrival to Leticia at Vasquez Cobo airport, from there we´ll take you by road 11 kilometers to our natural reserve, where you can enjoy a grilled fish for lunch a typical Amazon meal.

In this place we can talk about your expedition, review the activities schedule and then we´ll make a short walk through the jungle to the tree house where you’ll spend the night.

After the installation arrangements and a short break at the cabins, one of our guides will take you to a night walk through the jungle where you can appreciate the jungle’s nocturnal wild live. For dinner we´ll serve you a delicious pizza “a la Amazonas” and afterwards your guide will bring you back to the tree house.

Day 2:

After breakfast you´ll do the canopy tour.

There are 4 observation platforms connected with steel cables and a hanging bridge . The access to the first platform is by rope climbing. Crossing from one platform to another is through a zip line, by which you practically “fly” from tree to tree. Descend is done from the last platform by rappel.

After finishing the canopy tour we will continue with a jungle expedition.

After a one hour walk through the jungle we´ll get to a settlement of an Indian family living by the small Tacana River. There we will have lunch and then we´ll start going down the river with the kayaks. In the afternoon the native guide will look for an ideal spot to build a camp for the night. After dinner you can go with the guide for a walk looking for exotic animals and do some fishing.

Early morning

Day 3:

During this day we´ll go on with the kayaks, at some good spot we have lunch and keep on until we get to a maloca (traditional Indian house) from the macuna tribe.

After a rest we´ll walk about 30 minutes and arrive to a nice house in the jungle where we will spend the rest of the day relaxing with good comfort.

Day 4:

After breakfast, we walk back to Tanimboca and get your equipment, then we bring you to Leticia to get a boat which will take you up the Amazon river to a beautiful Natural Reserve on the Peruvian side of the river.

The way of getting to this Natural Reserve depends of the time of the year. During the dry season you`ll have to walk around 45 minutes through a path in the jungle. During the rainy season you`ll take a small canoe.

At this lake, there are a lot of birds, monkeys and other wild live that can be easily observed, delicious meals and activities such as cannoning and hiking. The giant lotus flower and the huge Ceiba tree can be also seen. At night you’ll have the opportunity to go in search of caimans.

You’ll spend the night at “Marasha” natural reserve.

Tabatinga

Day 5:

In the late morning we`ll start our trip back to the Amazon River where a boat takes us to the spots where you can observe the pink and gray dolphins. On the way back to Leticia we will stop at a nice place for lunch. In the afternoon you can watch a spectacle at the main park in Leticia. Every evening thousands of parrots come back to the resting trees in the park.

Afterwards a taxi takes you to the reserve where you´ll have dinner. The last night you spend in a nice cabin by a small creek.

Amazonas

Day 6:

After breakfast you go with a taxi to Leticia, you`ll have some free hours to visit Leticia and its neighbouring city Tabatinga or visit an ethnographic museum.

In the afternoon we take you to the airport of Leticia.

Recommendations: Bring light clothing, long sleeves shirts and pants, sun protector, mosquito repellent, bathing suit, yellow fever vaccine, sandals, tennis shoes or boots, cap, head lamp, jackknife, backpack and rain coat.

1. Tanimboca SAS is responsible to you for the full delivery and quality of the services described in the program, in addition to complying with the itinerary planned in their plans.

2. Tanimboca SAS has an insurance policy that protects the visitor resort in case of any sort of accident during their stay while in use of our services. We are not responsible for damage caused by strikes , riots , earthquakes and any other force majeure that may occur during the trip.

3. Tanimboca SAS reserves the right to make changes in the itinerary , travel dates , hotels , transportation when there are extenuating circumstances that endanger the safety of users and the success of the tour.

4. Tanimboca SAS will reimburse the amounts paid or services not excepting the expenses have actually caused when: bypassing of services agreed partially or wholly or when the user due to illness or force majeure forced to retire. SAS Tanimboca requests a deposit of 50 % of the cost of the entire plan , ten working days before the start date of the program , in order to ensure their participation in the tour. This sum will be paid to the cost of the tourism plan . If the user is not present or use the services agreed , Tanimboca SAS user may require the payment of 20 % of the full price or rate established ( Article 65 Act 300 of 1996 ).

5. SAS Tanimboca not responsible for legal matters or other issues in which the user can be involved , if the user is forced to retire from the tour for these reasons , and likewise against the personal expenses that passenger incurred.

GENERAL ASPECTS TO PROMOTE SUSTAINABLE TOURISM

1. Learn about customs, rules and traditions. Avoid behaviors that may offend the local population.

2. Remember that in Colombia the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents is a crime, any form of exploitation violates the fundamental objectives of tourism.

3. Protect the flora, the wildlife, their habitat and do not buy products made from plants or animals in danger of extinction.

4. Respect cultural resources. Tourism activities should be practiced with respect for the artistic, archaeological and cultural heritage.

5. Avoid extracting archaeological remains, plants, flowers and so on.

6. Buy handicrafts and local produce to support the local economy and practice the principles of fair trade.

7. Avoid consuming products with unnecessary packaging and choose to use recyclable packaging.

8. Avoid throwing debris in the places visited.

9. Remember to turn off the faucets, turn off the air conditioning and lights when leaving the hotel or lodging place.
